Snowdonia May 2019
The Spring half term saw 1st Crawley head to North Wales for an action-packed weekend of adventure.
On day one we all donned wet suits and headed into the Afon Trystion to go gorge scrambling. After a cautious start climbing over rocks and making our way down stream we were soon sliding down water shoots and leaping off high ledges into deep pools.
Day two was the big mountain day. After an early start we left the minibus at Pen-y-Pass and headed off to climb the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. Avoiding the ‘tourist’ routes we scrambled up to the first peak of Y Lliwedd before tackling the Watkin Path and heading into the clouds and rain at the summit of Snowdon. After a well earned break at the cafe, we made our way back down the Pyg Track, finally getting back to the minibus as darkness was arriving at the end of an epic day.
